FLIFF and FAU present Argentinean Film Festival
(released 3/29/2006)

Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival (FLIFF) hosts Florida Atlantic University's (FAU) Argentinean Film Festival, April 12 – 23 at Cinema Paradiso. The festival, titled "Pantalla de Plata: A Retrospective of Argentinean Film" is organized by the Caribbean and Latin American Studies Program at FAU and the Department of Languages, Linguistics and Comparative Literatures.

The festival offers a collection of rare and hard to find films, as well as some of the key works from Latin America and the Caribbean. "These retrospectives aim at showing the wealth of Latin American Cinema within a well organized historical approach; from its origins to the most recent productions. We bring in specialists or talent from the films for post film discussions. Audiences will not only have fun, they will also learn a great deal about Argentina and other countries." Commented Luis Duno-Gottberg, Director of Caribbean and Latin American Studies at FAU.

One of the film talents to attend to offer an audience film discussion is actress Adrianna Bianco (Adrianita) star of La Nina del Gato.
